What is Catalan fuet?

Catalan fuet stands out as one of the best products from this region of Spain. Also called « espetec », this saucisson is characterised by its long, narrow shape. It has a smooth texture, covered with a white coating caused by fermentation.

This variety of Spanish charcuterie is made with the pork loin, one of the best cuts of pork. The long drying of the fuet strengthens its intense flavour while preserving its aromas. Ingredients such as salt, garlic, spices and pepper are used to season the espetec and bring out its unique flavour.

To impress your guests, choose an espetec made with quality raw materials and according to local know-how. The products available on Directos.eu meet all quality criteria and are made in keeping with the principles of local craftsmanship. Catalan fuet can be enjoyed on its own or with an accompaniment. Its unique, irresistible taste will delight your guests' taste buds. This dry saucisson is excellent for sharing warm moments. It offers many possibilities for an exceptional aperitif.

Some people add finely chopped tomato or slices of potato. To give some substance to your fuet tapas, have some good-quality wine on hand. Espetec is also enjoyed with green or black olives.
